I was really looking forward to next year's cricket fixtures coming out, but now I'm wishing I hadn't bothered getting excited.
All bar one of the county championship games at Taunton start on either a Monday or a Tuesday which means that if I'm lucky, I'll get to see two days of championship cricket.
The Pro40 games aren't too bad but the T20 ones all start at 11.00am now and that means I'll have to take a whole day off work instead of just a half day (that's if I'm able to and other people aren't off, which of course isn't guaranteed). This, coupled with the leave I'll need to take for actual holidays, means I'll have just 4.5 days left to use up throughout the rest of the year, and this in turn means I won't get Christmas off again next year. And also, what about games on Sky in the evenings? Unless the start times are going to be changed in conjunction with Sky, there won't even be any games to watch on telly!
What a big, fat, stinking rip-off.
Still, I won't get caught like this again. Next year, I won't be buying membership and I'll just go along as and when. So there. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, Giles Fucking Clarke (don't know if that's his actual middle name, btw - but it doesn't half suit him).
