This year's tree has arrived. He's called Tree 543-892 and he's drying out in the conservatory until tomorrow, when he'll be getting decorated. He has a slight lean to the side and he's a bit bent at the top but I think he'll do a good job.

I've also ordered this year's turkey and will be fetching him on Christmas Eve.

This afternoon, I'm going to do some actual wrapping. I am not looking forward to that.

Wrapping? We haven't even started shopping!

(Although I am currently working on my great-nephew's intended gift and am hoping to get it finished in time!)

I actually started mine in August...

I'm hoping the wrapping won't take me too long - most things are either book or DVD shaped this year!

Heh, I'd normally be more organised but this year has been particularly turbulent. I don't even know what meat I'm cooking yet! (We ruled out Goose because it's too big, but can't decide between Duck, Venison and Wild Boar).

We know pretty much what to get everyone, and my sister and I have elected not to bother with each other this year because she's skint and I'm not far behind... it's just the buying!

Also we still have to get the tree out and decorated... arrrrrrgh!

I'll be doing turkey on Christmas Day and probably beef on Boxing Day. And Christmas Day we'll have a salmon mousse type thing in the morning before we open our pressies (along with some champers) and all kind of nibbly things in the evening. I cannot wait!

I have a few more small things left to get but I'm going late night shopping this coming Thursday and am then in Manchester for a Christmas market next weekend and in London for shopping and other stuff the following weekend, so I've got plenty of opportunities to get stuff!

Ooooooh, your Christmas sounds wonderful! I love salmon anything but OH doesn't, and I used to make Eggs Benedict before discovering my milk allergy (although I'm sure there's a way around that).

For my sister and I it's going to be our first Christmas without our Nan; we were both very close to her and it won't be easy, but I'm sure we can make the best of it and find a way to celebrate her.

Salmon mousse... MMMMMMMMM I think I'm coming to your house lol!

I love salmon as well - it's one of my favourite things to eat! I've never had Eggs Benedict, but I do love eggs done most other ways, so I'm sure I'd enjoy that as well.

I hope it won't be too hard without your nan. Celebrating her sounds like a good idea - I reckon she'd like that, you know.

Can't believe you started your shopping in August!! Wow!! Thats super organised. I despise wrapping because I make such poor work of it.

I've never been that organised before - it was only really because I spotted something on Amazon that I thought would make a good present for someone!

I'm the same when it comes to wrapping. I'm rubbish at it so I hate doing it.
