No, I don't believe in such a thing as "global warming".  I do believe in something called climate change, though.  And it's been going on ever since earth was created, so I'm buggered if I'm going to watch my carbon footprint because that won't make a sod of difference!  So there! :-P

And, of course, it's that way of thinking - by millions of humans over many years - that's causing the polar ice caps to melt and will eventually end up engulfing the UK in either massive floods or a new Ice Age. Or something.

Anyway, you lot down in the South West will get it first because you always get the wettest weather first. Haha. Karma! :-)

I'd agree with your point about individual impact. Almost no individuals have the power to change or affect anything on that sort of scale on their own. But I don't think that excuses any of us from being environmentally responsible and trying to adopt sustainable approaches. These things are cumulative and if we all do it it'll start to have an effect.

At the very least you can make an economic argument about it being worth our while because at some point the oil will run out and we will still need electricity so its better if it is generated in sustainable ways.
