I came perilously close to getting stuck in a lift earlier.

I'd just finished work and I got into lift with Lesley, Di and Josh.  As the doors closed, Josh mentioned and he and Helen had been momentarily stuck in the same lift a short while previously, and sure enough, when we "landed" on the ground floor, the doors failed to open.  Twice.  The little light around the alarm button was illuminated, as well.  I was just starting to stress when Josh managed to manhandle the doors enough to prise them apart, and we all escaped.  Phew!

I'll be walking up the stairs on Monday morning, I think!

I deliberately got myself stuck in a lift, once. I jumped up and down while it was between floors, and it stuck. Got me a nice 20 minutes off work, that did. And I hated that job, so having 20 minutes peace & quiet to doze in a lift 'til help arrived was a welcome break :-)

You're braver than me! Although, I am sorely tempted to take that lift up on Monday morning in the hope that I'll get stuck for an hour or so and miss out on doing some work ;-)

I've worked in some places with very dodgy lifts. One place used to regularly halt then drop a good few feet all at once. I also remember the old ones that we could jump up and down in to jam them - those were ancient q960's ones though.

I dread to think what these lifts will be like in a few years' time because they're only 18 months old now and they're breaking down already!
